My name is Keith Cormican. I own Search and Recovery Consulting, LLC.
I have been a full time dive shop owner for 22 years and an instructor for 21 years. I have earned my Instructor Trainer certification through TDI Advanced Trimix, SDI and ERDI and a PADI MSDT. We have a lake 4 miles away that is 350 deep with 20′ – 40- of vis. With these conditions I have been successful in training many divers and instructors for deep wreck diving. I also have my full cave diver certification and have dove caves in Florida, Cozumel, and Yucatan.
After taking some sonar courses and the 5 years recovering 23 drowning victims, I decided to take from what I learned and put it into a user-friendly course. I am offering training and take it on the road. It is cheaper for a department to pay my travel expenses rather than their team to travel.
In 2013 I formed the non-profit organization, Bruce’s Legacy. Having been involved in Public Safety Diving, I realize that many drowning victims are never recovered, and some for a extended period of time. In our 5 years, we have purchased a Klein 3900 tow type sonar, Outland Technology ROV outfitted with Tritech Gemini sonar and a Hewescraft boat. Sometimes acquiring money can be easier than spending it, and there is much conflicting information to be found on the subject of marine recovery.
“What equipment does my department need? How will I service it? How will I use this, how often, and exactly for what? Will this benefit our community?”
I was there, and now I am here to make the process easier for other people and organizations.
